What to do on the weekend in Florence, from 28 to 30 June

The Grand Departure of the Tour de France from Italy, for the first time in history, on Saturday 29th from Florence, is the most awaited event of the last weekend of June. Tour de France Grand Departure from Florence
For the first time in its history, the Tour de France starts from Italy, with three stages on the roads of Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont, before reaching France. First of these three stops, Saturday 29th, Florence.
The caravan will leave from the Villaggio alle Cascine (around 12pm) in non-competitive mode and will reach Piazza della Signoria for an institutional start in the presence of the authorities. The city route will continue, still with the timer off, passing under the most famous monuments and then heading towards Piazzale Michelangelo and from here continuing towards the Gavinana area, where the Tour will pay homage to Gino Bartali. The competitive race will begin just outside the city limits, in the Bagno a Ripoli area, where the official start will be given.

Bicyclethe Film Festivals in Florence
