Aversa, alleged sale. The former president of the Romano assembly denounces Martiniello, candidate of Noi Aversani

No sooner said than done. Roberto Romano has filed a complaint against Carmine Martiniello with the Naples North prosecutor’s office, through his lawyer Ciro Iorio. The story dates back to a week ago, when the political temperature reached red-hot peaks for the electoral campaign of the Aversa municipal elections. Both Romano, outgoing president of the assembly, and Martiniello participated personally in the dispute for a seat on the council. The first ran on the Noi Moderati list, in support of Antonio Farinaro. The second took the field with Noi Aversani, in support of Franco Matacena. Both were not elected. The casus belli occurred a few steps from the municipal house. Martiniello walked past the university and graduate club in Piazza Municipio. Outside there were the former mayor Mimmo Bisceglia, a supporter of Farinaro, and some citizens. According to what has been learned, Martiniello would have made serious accusations against Romano, who was not present, asserting that the exponent of Noi Moderati would have resigned as president of the civic assembly in exchange for money. According to Martiniello, the alleged sale was conceived by the political party attributable to the Bisceglia family. A very serious statement that triggered the vehement reaction of the former mayor of Bisceglia who, after a furious verbal clash, attempted to attack Martiniello. Only thanks to the intervention of those present was physical contact between the two avoided. Once he became aware of the episode, Romano immediately instructed his lawyer to file a complaint against Martiniello due to the seriousness of the statements against him, “with clearly defamatory content – specified the former helmsman of the city council – as well as totally deposed of foundation.” The announcement was followed by facts. The lawyer Iorio, defender of Roberto Romano, filed a complaint against Carmine Martiniello. Now the ball shifts from the political field to the judicial one. The climate promises to be equally fiery.
