Trento provincial council, Maule requests activation of 112 in Primiero, to which the Feltre Carabinieri respond, Fugatti replies – LaVocedelNordEst

During the question time in the Provincial Council, the problem of the failure to activate 112 from a mobile phone in Primiero returned to the center of attention. To date, the Carabinieri of Feltre still respond (until 5 June 2024) with significant management problems in case of emergency, for the military themselves

Trent – In the event of a health emergency, even a few minutes can save a life. This is confirmed by what has happened in recent days for young people in difficulty on the Natisone. In Primiero, 112 has not been operational from mobile phones for years now. There were many questions in the chamber to resolve the problem, but to date, 112 has been diverted to a toll-free number 800 112 000 which is very difficult to remember. In fact, many opt for the faster 118. In case of emergency, the Carabinieri of Feltre (Belluno) still respond to 112, forced to divert the call to Trento, due to a problem with the telephone cells connected to the Feltre area.

The topic has become topical again in recent days thanks to the minority councilor Chiara Maule (Base Camp), who asked the executive what initiatives it intends to undertake, directly and towards the Veneto Region, so that the citizens and tourists of the 5 communities of Primiero (who currently have the toll-free number 800112000 for emergencies, made temporarily available by Pat to deal with the problems of the NUE 112 service) can find rapid support and help by dialing the (deliberately) easy number 112 from their landlines and mobiles.

The response came directly from the president of the Province, Maurizio Fugatti, who has known the problem very well for some time. He explained that the disservice does not depend on Trentino, because Primiero enters a telephone district linked to Veneto (0439 Feltrino / Bellunese). “We discussed with this Region and also at ministerial level – reiterated Fugatti – a temporary solution was found. Essentially, the Veneto Region needs to quickly adapt to number 112. The Trentino executive is following this match closely.” Maule’s reply: we really hope that Veneto moves in a reasonable time.

It therefore comes naturally to ask, how much longer will the Veneto Region need to activate the 112 emergency service (announced in 2023 in the Region’s press release), also putting an end to the problems in the neighboring municipalities?
