TRENT. The damage to the gas pipeline is more serious than expected which, since this afternoon – Sunday 2 June – has interrupted the supply to a large area of the center of Trento (ARTICLE HERE): It will take a few days to fully restore the network.
The damage was caused by the breakage of the aqueduct in the Salita Manci area.
The service has been suspended for several hours now and, although Novareti technicians have managed to reduce the “affected” area, There are around 3,500 people who have been without gas for hours now.
In fact, currently around 1,500 users are affected in the perimeter between via Torre Verde, via Bernardo Clesio, piazza Venezia, via Venezia (up to the curve where the Korallo restaurant is located), via Galilei, via Carducci, via Simonino, piazza Battisti and Vicolo of Vo.
The times, as mentioned, are destined to extend significantly and it will take days to return to reactivating the service. For purely precautionary reasons, Novareti asks citizens residing in the area affected by the fault to close the gas taps inside their homes until further notice.
NoIn the meantime, given the situation, the Civil Protection emergency room at the permanent fire brigade of Trento was also activated. The mayor of Trento was also on site Franco Ianeselli and the councilor for public works Italo Gilmozzi.
However, the fault did not cause any gas leaks or any risk to the population. However, no problems were detected in the water supply.
