The Udine Church announces the death of Msgr. Pasquale Pressacco

The mourning Church of Udine announces the passing of Msgr. Pasquale Pressacco, who died on Sunday 5 May at the hospital in Udine, where he was hospitalized due to his worsening health conditions.

Older brother of the musicologist Don Gilberto, mons. Pasquale Pressacco was born in Sedegliano on 18 May 1937: in a few days he would have turned 87. He was ordained a priest in 1961 by Msgr. Giuseppe Zaffonato.

Monsignor Pressacco was the parish priest of Colugna for a long time, a community he led from 1974 to 1996. He was then parish priest in the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Udine, which he led until 2004 when he was appointed residential canon of the illustrious Collegiate Church of Cividale. Right in the ducal city, Msgr. Pressacco served in his last years, until his health required him to reside in the house of the clergy of the Priestly Fraternity in Udine. For many years he dedicated himself to the dissemination of the musical work of his brother Don Gilberto, who passed away in 2017: Msgr. Pasquale Pressacco was in fact among the main animators of the “Don Gilberto Pressacco” Cultural Association.

The date of the funeral will be announced as soon as possible on this site.
