Rock climbers in difficulty, saved by the firefighters

Just before 5pm today, Sunday 5 May, the Fire Brigade intervened in the Municipality of Gaeta following a request from the maritime authority regarding rescue of people.
On site at Monte Orlando in the “Montagna Spaccata” location, the Gaeta territorial fire brigade team noted the presence of three rock climbers in difficulty on a cliff.
The operations room also activated the specialists of the maritime VVF nautical unit and, from the VVF flight department of Ciampino, the Draga 159 helicopter.
Shortly afterwards, the VF nautical specialist personnel who intervened with a sea inflatable boat, managed through appropriate maneuvers to approach the cliff to complete the rescue and recover the three rock climbers in difficulty who were brought to land with the VF boat and affiliated to 118 as a precaution.
A patrol boat from the Port Authority was on site during the recovery phases.
