Lazio, Tudor: “I feel at the center of the project. Kamada remains”

Last of the championship at the Olimpico tomorrow for Lazio. Against the already relegated Sassuolo, the Biancocelesti only need one point to have the mathematical certainty of qualifying for the Europa League. But Igor Tudor takes nothing for granted: “We prepared this match as if it were a final. I never trust anything or anyone. We will have to give our best also because Sassuolo has a squad that is certainly not relegation worthy, so we will have to be very careful.” The coach hopes to see the same Lazio team that faced Inter last Sunday: “It was a test that demonstrated our mental growth. I had seen the other matches played by Lazio against Inter this season and it wasn’t a given that we would play on equal terms with them who are from another planet.” Closing the season well means laying the foundations to start again in the best way in the next one: “I will talk to the club, we will try to make the right choices. Since I’ve been here I’ve always felt at the center of the project, this is a club that always gives a lot of importance to the coach, otherwise I would never have come. Now we need to plan well for next season and I will try to influence the decisions to be made.”

kamada remains

One of the first issues to be resolved will be that relating to Kamada’s permanence, who can exercise the renewal option in his favor by May 30th. In the next few days his agents will arrive in Rome to discuss it with the club. “He wants to stay,” says Tudor, “he will meet with the club and they will try to renew. I hope this thing gets over as quickly as possible.” Felipe Anderson instead says goodbye. “A great guy and an amazing player.” New players will arrive, possibly prospective ones. “Everyone is looking for young and already strong players. You have to be good at making the best choices. The model to follow is that of Atalanta, which has always been able to find the right players.” Tomorrow, before the match against Sassuolo, there will also be a greeting from the Olimpico to Sven Goran Eriksson: “It will be a great emotion for me to meet him – says Tudor -. Boksic often spoke to me about him, describing his great qualities both as a man and as a coach.”
