Last Tuesday 26 March, a meeting with students promoted by the management of the complex and the local Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza took place at the “San Tommaso D’Aquino” comprehensive institute in Salerno.
The project, aimed at primary and secondary school students, had the objective of disseminating the concept of economic and financial security also and above all through direct contact and collaboration with the police.
The event, which took place at the “Don Peppe Diana” school headquarters, located in the “Matierno” district, and which was attended by numerous students, accompanied by their teachers, began with the screening of a film on the tasks of the Guard of Finance and the illustration of the specialty sectors in which all the members of the Corps are engaged on a daily basis in the fight against drug trafficking, tax evasion, the squandering of public resources, the falsification of trademarks, the violation of the rules on the right of author and on Made in Italy and other forms of illegality more or less widespread in the country.
The children then satisfied their curiosity with questions about the service activities carried out by the Fiamme Gialle of Salerno.
After this first phase, in the institute’s gym the young people were also able to attend a practical exhibition by the Corps’ canine units, during which the work that the dog and handler carry out every day in the different operational scenarios was described, especially for the repression of drug dealing and trafficking.
