Queen Stone he was only 7 years old. She was with her mother, uncle and little cousin. For about half an hour the ambulance doctors tried to revive her. Then her little heart stopped beating. Meanwhile, three other children were hospitalized. They will manage to survive, as will the other survivors of what could have been a real massacre: a little girl dead, seven injured.

Yet another road tragedy occurred yesterday afternoon in Ardea, around 1pm, on Via Pontina Vecchia, at the intersection with Via della Pescarella and Via Vincenzo Strampelli. They are almost country roads, single lane. Where, however, drivers often have no qualms about pressing on the accelerator.
The dynamics are yet to be ascertained: what triggered the deadly carambola was a Mercedes station wagon, driven by a 75-year-old Dutchman, who was coming from Via della Pescarella at high speed. The car perhaps dared to overtake when it collided with a Lancia Lybra traveling in the opposite direction. There is a family on board. Mother, father and two children aged 7 and 10. The impact is violent, the Mercedes begins to rotate and ends up on the opposite road. At that moment another car arrives. It is the Mercedes A class, where Regina is also located. The mother, a 31-year-old woman, is driving. Then there are his uncle and his ten year old cousin. Everyone traveled with seatbelts. But checks will still be made on child seats. The woman didn’t have time to avoid the crazy Mercedes and the collision was head-on and violent.
Regina hit her head on the glass, causing a fatal injury. Her condition immediately appeared compromised, but she fought for almost an hour, then the doctors were forced to certify her death. The little cousin, sitting in the back, was saved and has no serious injuries: he was however hospitalized at Bambin Gesù, as were the other two minors who were on board the Lancia. The man driving the Mercedes, however, was taken to San Eugenio hospital under code red. His condition is not serious.
The firefighters of Pomezia and the local police of Ardea intervened on site and, together with the carabinieri, made the area safe. A cursed road where you run, putting your own life and that of others at risk. Only two weeks ago, again on the old Pontina, at kilometer 37,400, there was another fatal accident. A 70-year-old man, aboard a Jeep, had crashed into a cement mixer. The driver was killed instantly.
Yesterday, another tragedy with the death of Regina, the youngest of the 40 road victims between Rome and the province since the beginning of the year. The little girl was originally from Ardea. She would have turned 8 in September. She, however, died next to her mother. The same fate happened to little Manuel Proietti, the five-year-old boy who lost his life in Casal Palocco in June in the accident with the Lamborghini driven by Matteo Di Pietro, the leader of the Youtuber group “The Borderline”.
