The homeowner who calls the police after scaring off two robbers, and a boy found in the street not far from the house, wounded in the neck. The contours are still to be defined, but for now the story is that the owner of the house found two strangers wearing balaclavas and he fired a .38 caliber revolver once, hitting one of the two grazingly.
The first is 85 years old and He is a retired financier, with the weapon regularly held. The second is a 27 year old of Albanian originswith no fixed abode with no criminal record: he was treated at the Pope John XXIII hospital, it is not serious, and he was transferred to prison, arrested for aggravated robbery.
The incident happened on Saturday evening 27 April, in via Longuelo, in Bergamo, around 9.30pm. According to the first reconstruction of the event, the 85-year-old was in the bedroom watching television, the wife found herself on another level. Two strangers entered through the French windows, perhaps armed with a stick or something similar. They made him stand up, shouting “money, money”. He managed to take the gun he had at hand and shot. The two ran away with a purse containing 200 euros and the documents of the former financier but outside the house their paths diverged.
The homeowner’s call was matched with that of the injured man, who asked for help when he saw that he was bleeding. A police car arrived on the scene. The 26-year-old was rescued by ambulance in code yellow (not serious). The accomplice had already disappeared, but he was found on Sunday morning in an apartment: he was arrested for aggravated robbery, for the Longuelo episode, and for resisting the police, in the morning. He is also a homeless Albanian, 26 years old and older, and was expelled three years ago.
The 85-year-old was summoned to the police station to better reconstruct the dynamics of the events. His position will be examined further to verify whether the injuries can be explained by the legitimate defense.
