Ardea, 28 March 2024 – Tragic accident at the intersection between via Pontina Vecchia and via Nazareno Strampelli, in Ardea. Three vehicles, two Mercedes and a Lancia Station Wagon, were involved in a violent head-on collision.
Accident in Ardea, a little girl dies
The people behind the wheel of the cars involved suffered minor injuries, along with three children aged between 8 and 10, who were taken to hospital.
An 8-year-old girl died shortly after the collision. The medical operators present on the scene did everything possible by carrying out resuscitation operations on the little girl. Despite the incessant efforts of the 118 operators, the little girl didn’t make it.
An air ambulance landed to provide emergency assistance to an 8-year-old boy, who was airlifted from Pegaso to San Camillo under code red. In addition to the 118 operators, the Carabinieri, the Ardea Traffic Police, the Airone Civil Protection and the Fire Brigade intervened on site. However, despite the timely intervention of the authorities and rescuers, the situation remains critical.

The intersection in question is known for its dangerousness and has already seen several serious accidents in the past. Many residents complain about the poor safety of the road and call for urgent action to prevent further tragedies. Among the proposals put forward, the idea of replacing the intersection with a roundabout emerges, considering its history marred by tragic events. The entire community of Ardea remains apprehensive, in the hope that decisive measures will be adopted to make the city’s streets safer.
