MONTENERO DI BISACCIA. The passage first of the German troops and immediately after, a matter of days, of the Allied ones, all told almost moment by moment by those who know the subject well. And who, certainly not a negligible detail, knows how to explain it in a way that is understandable to everyone.
The meeting with the San Salvo historian Giovanni Artese, teacher and author of numerous publications, was held on Saturday afternoon. Among these is a detailed history of the Second World War in Molise and Abruzzo. Knowledge thanks to which Artese explained in detail the most tragic event of the twentieth century which also affected Lower Molise, Abruzzo and, specifically, the territory of Montenero di Bisaccia and its surroundings, the real focus of the meeting. The battle of Trigno was also explained, with the demolition of the famous bridge, which cost a total of one thousand deaths on both sides of the conflict.
Doctor Margherita Rosati, president of Unitre Montenero who organized the event, did the honors, while Professor Maria Teresa Bracone introduced the event.
