ROVIGO – Stefan Basson’s FemiCz Rovigo U18 narrowly lost their first championship semi-final against Rugby L’Aquila Experience. A match with two faces on Sunday 12 May at the Battaglini stadium, the guests suffered in the first part of the match, then with greater attention in the break down and in the recovery balls they moved ahead. FemiCz’s reaction was not long in coming, but the indiscipline and some details in the management of the oval were determined.
L’Aquila won game 1 17-20Sunday 19 May will be repeated with reversed fields, but for the rossoblù (on Sunday in the yellow-blue shirt) it will not be easy at all.
Rovigo took the lead at the start with a goal Ferrigato in the 8th minute, L’Aquila responds from the pitch in the 19th minute (5-3). In the 25th minute a good move out wide after good territorial control leads to a goal Gheller. Nine minutes later the guests crossed the goal line with good possession and after the conversion they scored 10-10.
In the second half in the 2nd minute the guests were ahead in the score from the pitch 10-13, then in the 8th minute the goal made the decisive difference, 10-20 after L’Aquila’s conversion. D’Antonio’s boys are left with 14 men in the 24th minute due to a yellow card, FemiCz tries to exploit their numerical superiority and succeeds with Bolognini who forcefully crosses the goal line, 17-20 after transformation. Then the result no longer changes.
