PANDINO – The announcement was made yesterday by the leaders of the Poor People’s Hospital Foundation, which manages the retirement home of the same name in Via Vignola. All the beds of the 106 guests of the structure are electric. A result achieved after a year of commitment and thanks to the solidarity of many.
The body, headed by the president Sante Poggioli, in March 2023 it had launched a fundraiser to complete the provision of equipment intended for guests, «a fundamental support – the Foundation specifies – for the well-being of the patient capable of bringing ergonomic, functional and also psychological benefits, not only to the resident, but also to healthcare workers.” In 12 months the Foundation collected 44,370 euros in donations, arriving from associations, private individuals and other benefactors. In this way it was possible to purchase the 20 missing beds to complete the equipment.
They replaced the last remaining mechanics and manuals supplied to the retirement home, thus allowing the last department that was without them to be modernized. «On behalf of the Foundation, the staff and the guests we express our heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to achieving this objective», conclude the Rsa. Among the latest donations in chronological order, we must remember the one which saw the Soli mai association join forces, which for years has supported the Hospital Foundation of the Poor, and the volunteers who organize the Panda car rally in Pandino, this year in program on June 22nd and 23rd.
Together they put 10 thousand euros on the table, which was used to purchase four beds equipped with electric movement, donated to the retirement home in Via Vignola. Already in 2022, Soli had never bought two more. The electric bed system allows operators to manage patients more easily, especially those who are bedridden for health reasons for most of the day.
Soli Mai, through constant volunteering, raises funds to support various activities of the Hospital for the Poor and will continue to do so this year too. Furthermore, its volunteers are constantly present in the Rsa, supporting the entertainment service staff in promoting recreational initiatives for the benefit of guests. They are organized on the occasion of the main holidays, but also on other days, taking advantage of both the internal spaces of the structure and the external ones, in particular the courtyard area in front of the entrance. In this case, obviously, we have to wait for the good season.
