All the Red fans have been holding their breath in the last few hours, awaiting confirmation or denial on Adrian Newey’s possible move to Ferrari. Between indiscretions and rumors reported by the media, all the clues point to a landing in Maranello, but the world of Formula 1 is so unpredictable that everything can change. Ferrari would be willing to offer approx 100 million in four yearsa figure perhaps never seen before for someone who is a “simple” engineer.
However, Riccardo Patrese says the 65-year-old Briton’s contributions are priceless. “The expense is worth it, because he is the champion of engineers. If Adrian comes, we win”the former driver told the Gazzetta dello Sport, however showing a doubt, namely whether he is willing to change his life to move to Italy (which is the reason why many other figures have struggled to get to Maranello) “We just need to understand if he really comes, because I know him well, we are friends, in my years at Williams we have built an excellent relationship, and I know he is very happy at home, he loves being in England. So I don’t know: I’m reading it in the newspapers that he is leaving Red Bull and that he could join Ferrari. I would be very happy with it, so I would visit him and see him more often. And also because he is aerodynamics: wherever he puts his hands he wins“.
