SALENTO – Three vehicles on fire in just over an hour. It was a night of fire in the province of Lecce, where three separate fires involved the firefighters of the provincial command.
The first intervention took place around 1.10am in Salice Salentino, where the flames broke out on a Renault Kadjar, owned by a 52-year-old, slightly damaging the facade of a house located in the immediate vicinity.
Shortly afterwards, at 2.15am, the same Fire Brigade team intervened in Copertino, in Via Lepanto, for a fire involving a Range Rover Freeland, owned by a 74-year-old.
The last fire was put out around 2.50 am in Gallipoli, along Corso Roma, where the flames engulfed an old Fiat 900, registered to a 42-year-old woman. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the fire brigade teams, further damage to people and property was avoided in all three cases.
Investigations are underway to ascertain the reasons that triggered the flames. In at least a couple of episodes, the possibility of arson cannot be ruled out.
