Libeccio Trail, an athlete from Elba wins in Sant’Andrea • Elbapress

He missed it. The @Libeccio Trail has found its spring location again, savoring the atmosphere and warmth of the editions before Covid, which forced a pause that lasted for years until 2023. Now enthusiasts have rediscovered the event that had always been a great success.

The race, over 18 km with 1,000 meters of altitude difference, saw the success of a local athlete, Jacopo Paolini (Atl. Isola d’Elba, in the photo), resident in Marciana, who completed the distance in 1h46’35” prevailing over Daniele Repele (Skyrunners Le Vigne Vicenza) by 2’37”, third place for the organizer of last Sunday’s Elba Island Marathon, Damiano Di Cicco (Elba Runners) this time in the simple role of a participant, who he finished at 3’54”. Followed by Alessandro Berti (Sa Valchiese) at 5’35” and Piergiorgio Alfonsetti (Atl.Abruzzo L’Aquila) at 9’35”. Among the women, first place went to Alice Casali (Skyrunners Le Vigne Vicenza) in 2h19’46” with Cristina Eula (Pam Mondovì) at 2’03” and Angelica Monestiroli at 17’37”.

As you can see, the offroad event organized by the Il Libeccio Association also had a strong participation from other regions, a sign of the importance that the race now has in the offroad panorama. The test had the support of the Municipality of Marciana, the Pro Loco of Marciana and the entire territory, for an event that now wants to extend its history as seen also from the commitment that many volunteers put in during the day to help and support enthusiasts, not just Elba.
