Urgent product recall: batches contaminated with glass fragments

An important communication comes from the Ministry of Health to avoid a potential danger for consumers, the food recall.

The Ministry of Health constantly keeps its attention high on the food safety of Italian citizens, and this time it has issued a new warning regarding a health risk linked to the capricciosa salad.

The danger of presence of glass fragments inside the product, which led to its withdrawal from supermarkets.

The report published on the Ministry website specifically concerns the capricious salad produced at the factories of Belmonte SASwhich is marketed under two different brands, namely Belmonte and Fontaneto. Both versions of the product were involved in the recall and are produced in the same factory, located in San Ponso, in the Turin area.

Belmonte SAS has communicated to the Ministry of Health the potential danger for consumers caused by the presence of glass fragments in some batches of capricciosa salad.

Therefore, all batches that have not yet expired have been withdrawn from the market, as the problem is believed to be linked to the raw material used to produce the capricciosa salad in question.

Food recall for glass fragments, affected products and batches

Belmonte and Fontaneto salads (Ricettasprint.it)

The affected lots of Belmonte salad are the following:

BL24003450 dated 12/03/2024 (expires 27/03/2024);
BL24003581 dated 03/14/2024 (expires 03/29/2024);
BL24003647 dated 03/15/2024 (expires 03/30/2024);
BL24003775 dated 03/19/2024 (expires 04/03/2024);
BL24003841 dated 03/20/2024 (expires 04/04/2024).

The capricciosa salad is sold in units weighing 1 kg and 250 g respectively. The identification mark of the manufacturing plant is F5U4N.

The other involved brand of decorated capricciosa salad is Fontaneto, and the lots involved in this case are:

The weight of the units concerned is 1500 g and 2000 g per package, always with the identification mark of the F5U4N factory. This situation was managed with extreme caution and speed, in order to guarantee maximum safety for consumers and prevent any risks to public health.

The Ministry of Health therefore issued an official warning and invoked the cooperation of buyers to check the presence of the offending product in their refrigerators and return it to the point of sale for collection.
