THE QUOTE OF ASCOLI PICENO DELIVERS THE OIL COMING FROM THE GARDEN OF MEMORY
In recent days the Police Commissioner of the Province of Ascoli Piceno, Dr. Giuseppe Simonelli, donated the oil produced from the olive trees present in the “Garden of Memory” of Capaci to the bishops of the dioceses of Ascoli Piceno and San Benedetto del Tronto.
From those olive trees, each dedicated to an innocent victim of mafia barbarism and planted on that land stained by the blood of the just and honest, a path of rebirth began, curated by the association “Quarto Savona 15”which takes its name from the radio acronym used by the police crew escorting judge Falcone and founded by Tina Montinarowidow of the escort leader Antonio Montinaro.
The aim of the initiative is to, as the 32nd anniversary of the Capaci and Via D’Amelio massacres approachesto keep alive the memory of those who fell at the hands of the mafia.
The oil obtained was donated to all the Italian Dioceses to be consecrated on the occasion of the Chrism Mass of Holy Week and then be used as holy oil during the liturgical year.
