Inflation in food services slows and prices also fall

Inflation in catering services fell to +3.4% from +3.5% in February. Commercial catering prices also slowed from +3.7% to +3.4%.

The dynamics of general inflation rises to +1.2%, the slight acceleration reflects the easing of the year-on-year decline in the prices of energy goods and the acceleration of the prices of transport-related services.

Bar

The inflation profile of the bar decelerates to +3.2%. The above-average increases for the sector only concern pastry and ice cream products (+4.2%).

Restaurants

Prices in traditional restaurants slowed to +3.8% and pizzerias to +3.3% compared to what was recorded last month. Delicatessen prices remain constant at +3.8%, while delivery slows down to +2.0% compared to March 2023.

Canteens

Canteen prices (share paid by families) recorded a change of 2.9%.
