Rome XX March 2024 – Arrives April and as the beginning of the month also comes the appointment with payment of monthly pensions. A payment that will be delayed by one day compared to the norm. But it is not the only “surprise” for pensioners who will not find the increases (announced by the INPS in January 2024) in their April 2024 pension. But let’s do some tidying up.
Here’s when they pay April 2024 pensions
The April 2024 pensions they will be credited to the bank account or on a current account Bancoposta Tuesday 2 April 2024. One day later than usual as the money is generally credited on the first day of the month. But Easter Monday falls on April 1st this year. Sometimes (and depending on the banks) it takes up to 2 days before the payment is visible online or on the app.

With a communication made in January 2024, INPS announced that from April the new income tax brackets (scheduled for 2024 by the 2023 Budget Law). A change that would have entailed increases for those who have a gross annual pension between 15,000 and 28,000 euros. But there won’t be any increases. But no alarm. INPS has in fact anticipated the application of the new rates (with related arrears accrued since January 2024) as early as last March 2024. “However, there may be some pensioners, but these are marginal caseswho did not receive the increases in March and who could receive them, including arrears, in April”, explain the Spi, the CGIL pensioners’ union.

In any case for check pension entries (amount, taxation, Irpef withholdings, adjustments, arrears) pensioners can view the pension payslip for April 2024 (like all other pension slips). The April payslip was uploaded on 20 March 2024. Pension increases in 2024 with the new Irpef rates
The increases in pensions ranging from 15,000 to 28,000 euros gross per year it goes from around 5 euros to 20 euros a month. Let’s try to give some examples of how the pension allowance has increased (since March). Here are the calculations:
- for a pension of 1,400 euros gross per month the increase is 5 euros per month
- for a pension of 1600 euros gross monthly the increase is 9 euros per month
- for a pension of 1,800 euros gross monthly the increase is 13 euros per month
- for a pension of 2,000 euros gross monthly the increase is 17 euros per month
- for a pension of 2,153 euros gross monthly (which corresponds to 28,000 euros gross per year: 2,153 euros multiplied by 13 monthly payments) the increase is 20 euros per month (equal to 260 euros per year: 13 monthly payments).
