Correggio He had felt ill in November. And then, everyone had prayed and hoped. Instead, Stefano Paterlini passed away at the age of 57 from a life in which he was a protagonist, loved and esteemed, always ready to mobilize for others, always the first to step forward and never back down.

He was president of Correggio Tennis Club, which with him underwent an important transformation and evolution. The two padel courts were inaugurated in 2022.

Condolences for Paterlini’s passing were expressed by the former mayor of Correggio Ilenia Malavasi, now a member of the Democratic Party. «Shortly ago I received the terrible news of the passing of my dearest Stefano. At this moment I find it really difficult to make a list of the countless occasions in which I found myself discussing, laughing, discussing and collaborating with him – he writes –. Just as it is even superfluous to mention the commitment, generosity, passion for sport – naturally starting from “his” Tennis Club – the attention to volunteering, the political commitment and the absolute dedication to an idea of community that was as inclusive as possible. His smile. His friendship. His beautiful blue eyes. His beautiful wedding to Alessandra, very elegant and happy that day. An honor for me to have been at their side that day to share their joy.” «His death leaves a huge void in the city of Correggio and for me too, personally. When a friend, from whom you have always had availability and support, passes away prematurely, a piece of life goes away, of a journey made together, of projects and dreams realized. He will be greatly missed by the city, by his Budrio, by the Democratic Party, by his Tennis club, of which he was a very good president, in short he will be missed by those who knew him – he concludes –. I can only cling, with great affection, in this moment of pain, to Alessandra, to Leonardo, to Davide and to the whole “family” of the Correggio Tennis Club, for which so much has been spent to continue to make it live and grow with one new look. Thanks Stefano.”

The funeral will be held on Monday 29 April at 2.15pm starting from the mortuary of the Correggio hospital, for the Tennis Club, where a farewell stop will take place at 2.30 pm. At the end, the procession will continue to the cremation center.l
