Il Pontedera Wolf Group on the pitch for a friendly match against Japan national under-22 team. It will happen on Thursday 4 July, at 8.30pm at the Bellaria multi-sports center for an evening of friendship and sport.

An event defined as epic by Era Volleyball project, which is preparing to host the Japanese team in the “land” of the “Japanese of Pontedera”.

The sporting event will take place two months after the inauguration of the mural, created at the Piaggio Village, dedicated to the historic Zoli formation wanted by Don Vasco Bertelli in the 1950s and which became a symbol of “revolution” in volleyball at the time thanks to the adoption of a game system based on the typical style of Asian training.

The Japanese collegian will first be a guest of the municipal administration of Pontedera for a welcome greeting and then visit the mural. The two delegations will then move to the Bellaria multi-sports center where the test match will be held.

“This stage of their European tour – we read in a note from the Era Volleyball project – will be the opportunity to see up close a volleyball school with a great tradition which has been able to produce technically sensational players like Ran Takahashi, Yuki Ishikawa and Yuuji Nishida which delighted our eyes in the last Super Lega Credem Banca championship”.
