Oscar Piastri is half satisfied after finishing third in the Sprint Qualifying of the Austrian Grand Prixthe eleventh round of the 2024 Formula One World Championship. In fact, against the splendid backdrop of the Red Bull Ring track, the McLaren team representative is holding on to his result, but underlines how in some places he could have done even better.
The pole position of the Sprint Race goes to Max Verstappen with a time of 1:04.696 with 93 thousandths over Lando Norris and 301 over Oscar Piastri. George Russell fourth at 368 thousandths ahead of Carlos Sainz, fifth at 440. Sixth Lewis Hamilton at 584, seventh Sergio Perez at 1,322, while tomorrow Charles Leclerc will be tenth on the grid.
At the end of Friday in the Styrian mountains, the Melbourne-born driver shared his feelings to the microphones of Sky Sports UK: “Overall I have to say that I felt quite comfortable with the new things I brought. I set a good time and got a good position, but I’m sure that on the last attempt I could have done better in a couple of corners. I wasn’t clean enough.”

“Anyway – the class of 2001 continues – I am happy with how I am driving after a complicated weekend like the one at Montmelò.
