Carbon-Ti at the Tour de France with new gears and two aero solutions

The Cazzago San Martino (BS) company, an independent branch of LLS Titanium, an Italian company specialized in the processing of special alloys for the aerospace sector, updates its catalogue. On the occasion of the Grand Départ of Tour de France, Carbon-Ti officially reveals the gears and all the other components that will accompany Pogačar and his companions on the roads of the most important stage race in the world.

X-CarboRing EVO: custom combination, now for everyone

The gears, made of aluminum alloy AL7075-T6 and carbon fiber structural with 3K glossy finish and Grade 5 Titanium pins, they are not an absolute novelty.

The interesting thing is that starting today the combo 55-38requested by Pogačar at the end of 2023 and tested in Liège and the Giro d’Italia, is now available to the public.

The 55-tooth gear (which replaced the 54T Shimano) was introduced to increase downhill speed with the same effort while the internal crown, two teeth lower than the 40T of the Japanese giant, allows for reduction of development metric uphill.

The X-Carboring EVO 55 x 110 DA9200 and X-Carboring 38 x 110 four-arm gears are compatible with the Shimano 12v cranksets (bolt circle 110 mm).

Reducing turbulence around the brake rotors is part of the department marginal gains initially applied to time trial bikes.

For some time i shielded discs they are also used in in-line tests to reduce aerodynamic resistance and so Carbon-Ti has also worked on the disc range by proposing the X-Rotor Aero (photo below) which thus complements the “open” SteelCarbon 3 rotor (photo below) .

The X-Rotor SteelCarbon 3 rotor

The construction philosophy is the same: steel braking track (as for SteelCarbon 3) combined however with a “closed” carbon fiber spider with grade 5 titanium rivets and washers.

The rotor is available in two sizes (160 and 140 mm) for two fixing standards: Center Lock or six screws.

Single crown, new for 2025: chronometer only?

It’s called X-Aeroring and it’s a name that will officially make its debut in the range for 2025.

The product series identifies three chronometer gears (62, 60 and 58T). completely made of carbon fiber with 3K finish and compatible with Shimano 12-speed cranksets featuring 110 mm BCD.

Chainrings certainly not easy to push: will they be used in the Tour also during the flat stages? We’ll see…
