Ukraine fans forced to remove a peace banner: what was written on it
During the Ukraine-Belgium match, a banner appeared in the stands of the Stuttgart Arena in the sector reserved for Ukrainian supporters, who were not enough to get through to the 0-0 draw against the Red Devils. A section of Rebrov’s team fans held up a portrait of 21-year-old Nazarii “Grenka” Hryntsevic, a young Nyva Vinnytsia fan who died in the war, and 182 photo of Ukrainian soldiers. All accompanied by two rather significant banners: the first read “Peace has a price“, while on the second the writing “since February 2022 thousands of football fans have died during the war“. After a couple of calls from the speaker, he steward they called on Ukraine’s supporters to immediately remove the displayed banners, without managing to withdraw the material.
