Italy’s journey towards the 2024 Summer Nations Series has officially begun. In the past few hours, Gonzalo Quesada’s Azzurri have reached Auckland, New Zealand, which will be their headquarters for the next few weeks, for the first two Test matches with Samoa and Tonga.
Italy traveled to the southern hemisphere in two groups divided between forwards and backs, with the second group arriving today morning.

In the early afternoon, differentiated work with the Avanti department – already arrived yesterday morning, Monday 24 June – who will be engaged in a work session in the gym. For the three-quarters, arriving 24 hours later, an aerobic work session is scheduled. Among them the only justified absentee is Ange Capuozzo. The fullback will conclude the season with his club – Stade Toulousain involved in the Top 14 final on 28 June – and then subsequently join his teammates in Azzurro, as explained by coach Quesada.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 26 June, in the morning the team will be divided between departments for work in the gym, while in the early afternoon the first collective training is scheduled on the Auckland pitch towards the next match against Samoa, scheduled for Friday 5 July.
