Things are clear straight away, even if you will have understood that we are not talking about the Formula One World Championship. The Maranello team will be there at that, with Lewis Hamilton alongside Charles Leclerc. In short, a dream double for all Ferrari drivers around the world.
And obviously we hope that things can go differently than we have become accustomed to over the last few seasons, perhaps with a victory that would be something historic. Yes, because if Hamilton managed to win he would become the only one in history to have 8 world championships. A real dream. So, what are we talking about? Well, let’s talk about the Formula E World Championship, the electric one. There are no longer any doubts.
Ferrati, no Formula E
The rumors only lasted a couple of weeks, no more. Had been Jeff Dodds, the CEO of the electric series, to sensationally open the doors to the Prancing Horse for next year. It would have been a real blow, a phenomenal one, one that could have changed the history of this sport. But Ferrari’s CEO, Benedetto Vigna, took care of completely extinguishing the euphoria of a possible decision.
“We don’t like Formula E – the red number one clearly declared – meaning it doesn’t have much appeal. We will remain focused on Formula 1. We have already made our choices in motorsport, F1, the WEC and the Ocean Races which we announced in recent months“. Statements that leave no room for comment and cannot leave room for interpretation. So Ferrari won’t be there, and will certainly remain focused on the other races. Between Formula One and Le Mans won a few days ago, there are already so many thoughts and it’s useless to have any more.
