FDJ-SUEZ, Grace Brown announces retirement at the end of the season: “I know I could race for many more years, but I miss my life in Australia”

Grace Brown will hang up his bike at the end of this season. The Australian class of 1992, who just two months ago achieved one of the most important results of her career by winning the Liege-Bastogne-Liege ahead of Elisa Longo Borghini, announced with a video message on Instagram she will retire at the end of 2024 to be able to stay closer to her loved ones in Australia, from whom she is away for a good part of the year. In his career, the athlete of FDJ-SUEZ he has so far achieved 23 successes, including a stage at the 2022 Vuelta and the final classification at the 2023 Tour Down Under, as well as two silver medals in the time trial of the last two editions of the World Championships.

“I have decided that this year will be my last year in professional cycling – Brown’s words – It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while and I finally feel ready to tell everyone. I know I may have many years left in cycling, but I really miss life in Australia with my husband, family and friends. And it’s something that has become increasingly difficult to leave. I am very happy with everything I have achieved, it is way beyond what I expected. I’m very excited for the next chapter of my life, but at the same time I’m also very sad to leave this world.”
