One is that relating to the differences between Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho. “Wenger is an excellent communicator, he always manages to find the right words to push you and is never negative. I think this is positive, especially if you coach a lot of young people. On the other hand I had Mourinho at Inter who was ruthless because the competition is about winning, so I took a bit of that too. With Arsene he plays one or two games that aren’t at the top, but he will continue to focus on you. With Mourinho if you don’t play well in the first game, you might not play in the second and therefore you are under pressure.”
The coach recalls his arrival in the Premier League: “When I went to Arsenal I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t know anything about the Premier League because in France we followed Serie A. So I arrived at Arsenal and I was struck by the lack of professionalism. I came from Milan and there the players showed up at the training ground 1 or 2 hours before, well dressed, Costacurta came in a jacket and tie. He had lunch there, some slept there, he was really professional, at Arsenal it was the opposite“.
“Future? I had the chance to play for Inter, the goal will be to coach one of the teams I played for, which plays in the Champions League and try to win a title, that will be my goal.”
