In one of the most difficult moments, when their child was hospitalized at the Pope John XXIII hospital in Bergamo for a serious illness, they found in the “Casa di Leo” not only psychological but above all concrete support and now they want to repay their debt by giving back in a way the help they received was equally concrete.
For this reason, Vanessa, mother of a two-year-old girl, together with her partner, organized a charity lunch for Sunday 8 June, at the rugby house, in the Castellina di Sondrio area, to raise funds for Leo’s house.
“The structure is located in Treviolo – said Chiara, mother of a two-year-old child who in turn relied on Leo’s House, remaining there for weeks while her son was hospitalized and needed treatment in hospital – and we were guests there from September to December 2023, without ever returning to Valtellina. It is located near the Papa Giovanni hospital in Bergamo and hosts the families of children who suffer from serious illnesses and who are therefore hospitalized or who require practically daily care and come from far away. a bit like ours. Everything is paid for, so you can count on significant financial help and then there are volunteers who take care of the cleaning or let the children play thanks to their presence and sharing the situation with the other families hosted what you live becomes less burdensome and you feel decidedly less alone”.
Among other things, the “Casa di Leo”, opened by a mother of a child with a serious illness, which unfortunately later proved fatal, who had gone to treat him in the United States and wanted to bring back to Italy an experience similar to that lived, in the coming weeks it will expand, going from 5 to 12 rooms and also being able to count on healthcare personnel.
