The Municipality of Ragusa was the trailblazer and about six years ago it thought, thanks to the intuition of the councilor for youth policies Simone Digrandi– to create a study room for university students on holiday in Ragusa Marina.

A comfortable place, air conditioned and with wi-fi for their studies. A beautiful idea that other municipalities are starting to imitate. Like Vittoria and Modica

This year, in fact, the Municipality of Vittoria has prepared a study room for students at Rocks.

From Monday 8 July to 31 August, on the initiative of the Councilor for Public Education Francesca Corbino, in agreement with the Mayor Francesco Aiello, there will be a classroom available to all students for the preparation of their exams which will be hosted inside the premises of the comprehensive institute “Sciascia” in Scoglitti.

The classroom is equipped with WiFi and air conditioning. It will be possible to access every day from Monday to Friday, from 8 to 14, after signing the attendance register upon entry and exit. “Every year– explains the councilor Francesca Corbinowe record in Scoglitti a lot of young students, university or graduates who are preparing for the university entrance tests, especially in the month of August. Since I have been delegated to education, I think about how important it is that the commitment of all students is recognized and appreciated, also by providing them with comfortable spaces to study in seaside locations, where often the houses are designed for holidays and there are no spaces equipped for studying”.

Also Modica Marina from this year it will have its own study hall as the councilor announced Samuel Cannizzaro with a view to a new vision of the district attentive to the needs of young people at 360°. The classroom will be built at the Nannino Ragusa Auditorium. Here the real novelty is that the famous desks with wheels that have been lying in the warehouse since the Covid era will be used and that will now finally have a purpose. Obviously there will also be free wi-fi here.

An excellent intuition that we hope can soon be implemented in other municipalities as well.
