A large Ferris wheel will be built in the port of Vieste. With resolution no. 45, the council of the Gargano municipality accepted the request received from Jorge Lorenzo Guerrero, former MotoGP world champion (among Valentino Rossi’s greatest rivals, ed.), owner of the structure.
The former Iberian driver proposed the installation of the wheel, in agreement with Jody Luxury Events srl, but above all – we read in the resolution – his presence at the inauguration ceremony and the advertising of the events scheduled in Vieste.
The Council deemed the proposal “suitable for ensuring adequate tourism promotion of the territory, even beyond national borders”, deeming it appropriate – pending the approval of the variant of the master plan – to grant the concession of the area at the head of the pier overflow.
The wheel, 32 meters high, has 24 cars, a latest generation RGB LED lighting system, suitable for allowing considerable energy savings, and the possibility of adapting the color of the lighting depending on the peculiar characteristics of the events that will be organised. by the Municipality. It is also equipped with a central panel, 2.5 meters in diameter, designed for the projection of advertising messages. As Lorenzo himself pointed out in the proposal registered with the Municipality, the wheel is also usable for disabled people, who have the possibility of taking a free ride in complete safety.
