The trailer for “Here”, Zemeckis’ film based on the comic by Richard McGuire

Robert Zemeckis, the director of Back to the Future And Forrest Gumpis directing a film based on Heregraphic novel by Richard McGuire, translated into Italian by Rizzoli Lizard in 2015 with the title Here.

Like the original comic, the film will tell a story that will extend over time within a fixed scenario, i.e. a room in an apartment. As reported by Zemeckis, in fact, the shot will be unique for all 104 minutes of which the film will be composed: «The single perspective never changes, but everything that surrounds it does. It’s never been done before. There are similar scenes in early silent films, before editing was invented. But other than that, yes, it was a risky undertaking.”

The film will star Tom Hanks (who will play baby boomer Richard) and Robin Wright (his girlfriend and later wife Margaret). Since the film will cover a very long period of time, the two will be rejuvenated and aged through both makeup and special effects.

Among the other characters who will appear inside the house of Here Throughout the decades there will be Richard’s parents, Al (Paul Bettany) and Rose (Kelly Reilly), a turn-of-the-twentieth-century couple (Michelle Dockery and Gwilym Lee), and a 1920s inventor and pin-up model. (David Fynn and Ophelia Lovibond).
