Farewell to Luciano Platoni, Alpine soldier and chef

Borgotaro Luciano Platoni passed away at the age of 75, causing deep mourning in the town. Originally from the hamlet of Caffaraccia, to which he was particularly attached, he had worked for many years in Milan. First as a wood craftsman, specialized in the creation of parquet floors, and later as a chef at the Niguarda Hospital, where over the years he had also taken on coordination roles in the management of hospital catering.

After retirement, about ten years ago, he returned to his beloved Caffaraccia. An Alpine soldier, he immediately made contact with the Borgotaro section, with which he constantly collaborated in various volunteer activities and, in particular, making his great skills available in the kitchen, even on special occasions, such as the arrival in Borgotaro of the Belarusian children.

A very sunny and friendly person, he had many friends, with whom he loved to be in company. He also loved going to the woods, for walks or to look for mushrooms, always accompanied by Attila, his inseparable dog. He also had a very close bond with his family. In recent years he had spent a lot of time, with great commitment, also in the care and support of his nephew Valerio. He leaves behind his wife Maria, his daughters Deborah with Rocco and the beloved Gabriele, Roberta with Stefano, his sister Maria, his nephews and all his relatives. The funeral was held yesterday morning in the church of Caffaraccia.

The family would like to thank Doctor Benedetta Cambò and the Hematology department of the Parma Hospital for the great humanity and professionalism demonstrated in the last months of the illness, and the long-term care department and the hospice of the Borgotaro hospital. The local Alpine group participates in the mourning of the family members.
