The wave of bad weather continues in Northern Italy. Numerous landslides. In Piedmont where 90 people were evacuated during the night in Macugnaga, a town in Verbano-Cusio-Ossola at the foot of Monte Rosa, due to the flooding of the Tambach torrent. The towns affected are Staffa and Pecetto, where the water burst from the banks and poured into the streets of the town. There are no injuries. Landslides in the upper Orco Valley
The towns of Noasca and Ceresole Reale, in the upper Orco Valley (Turin), have been isolated since yesterday due to two landslides that hit the localities of Zaunere and Fornolosa. The provincial road 460 of Gran Paradiso has been closed. In Noasca, where 172 mm of water fell, the waterfall formed by the Noaschetta torrent swelled to the point of covering the bridge on the road before flowing into the Orco.

In Piedmont the most affected area is Val Divedro: a landslide occurred between San Domenico di Varzo and the locality of Nembro a Varzo, on the Rio Croso, along the road that goes up to Alpe Veglia. The situation is also very serious in the area of the Simplon Pass. A debris flow poured down onto the Swiss side of the road. There are no injuries, but the Simplon Pass and the road between Briga and Ried are now closed until further notice. Valle d’Aosta: Cervinia isolated after a landslide
