LONATE POZZOLO – Nothing more “Sports in the Parks” for dance and fitness school Queen of Hearts of Lonate Pozzolo. The reasons? The school itself lists them in a long post in which we can read all the disappointment at the missed opportunity to continue the project: «Park “found” closed near the start time of lessons, non-existent grass cutting, rubbish everywhere, abandoned advertising signs, embarrassing park».
Tender won, opportunity missed
And although the school specifies that it does not want to point the finger at anyone «Whoever knows Regina di Cuori, knows the seriousness and our way of operating. We tried to contribute for something good…evidently it didn’t have the right interest», the political thrust of the United and Free opposition group was not long in coming. «The Sport in the Parks project in Lonate Pozzolo was born thanks to participation in a call for tenders from Sport and Health and Anci, strongly supported by my administration. The objective was to encourage sports practice for everyone in a public space: in this way the psychophysical well-being of people and the social cohesion of the community are combined”, writes the former mayor of Lonate Nadia Rosa in a post published on the official page of United and Free.
Carraro Administration Negligent
«The municipal sports office and the sports associations involved have put a lot of effort into this tender and the collaboration between everyone had allowed us to get to the award at the beginning of 2023 and to the realization of the first edition in the summer of 2023», continues Rosa who attacks: «Now, after having pompously inaugurated the first edition a year ago, the negligence of the Carraro administration it makes you lose an important piece of this project, the part dedicated to sports for adults. I thank the Regina di Cuori dance school for bringing its expertise and seriousness to this project. Its presence has allowed the start of Sport nei Parchi in Lonate Pozzolo and a great participation of Lonatesi in these outdoor activities. It’s really sad to see another piece of social life lost».
