The State Police of Udine organized an “open day” at the passport office of the police headquarters of the Friulian capital on Saturday 29 June 2024 to deliver 700 passports in a single day.
The initiative desired by the police commissioner of Udine Alfredo D’Agostino to satisfy the legitimate requests of the citizens of Udine, rightly eager to be able to plan and leave for the long-awaited holidays, saw the preparation of an extraordinary opening of the Passport Office which deployed all available resources for this delivery which took place throughout the day on Saturday from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm.
The effort put in by the staff of the Passport Office of the Police Headquarters was noteworthy and, in addition to doubling their presence on the “open day”, in the previous days they sent 700 individual communications to as many citizens whose passports were ready and waiting to be withdrawn.
The communications, as mentioned, delivered to each of the 700 passport holders to be collected, also contained different time slots for the collection of the 700 travel documents, carefully identified and spread out throughout the day in order to avoid the long queues that could have formed. if hundreds of users showed up all together.
In this way, however, the operations were carried out very calmly and all the citizens who showed up obtained the title in a few minutes, showing considerable appreciation for the initiative that allowed many users to use the whole day of Saturday for the collection, perhaps before or after a trip out of town given the favorable climate.
Given the success of the “open day” for the delivery of passports and also given the significant number of travel documents that were ready a long time ago and not yet collected by users, the initiative will be repeated at least once a month throughout the summer.
