PALERMO – “We are back on the streets of Palermo to renew a tradition that has been with us for two decades and relaunch a new message”, write the Addiopizzo committee.

An initiative that follows the one from twenty years ago that gave the city a boost and that was then repeated in the years to come.to the historic center in Brancacciofrom the Walnut to San Lorenzo passing through Resuttana, Strawberries and many other areas of the city.

“An entire people who pay protection money is a people without dignity”, it was written then.

This time it was the turn of the historic center of Palermo between via Maqueda, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Via Emerico Amari and Via Isidoro La Lumia.

The stickers invite you to reflect: they are places where in the last ten years “there has been an urban, productive and social change whose impact is unprecedented in the history of Palermo. A change that has generated a new and important economy that has its pivot in the tourist use of the places in the historic center”.

“Streets from which, in addition to renewing the historical message, we wish to address and share a question, anything but rhetorical, with public opinion, the economic fabric and the political class of this city. Without claim to give answers but with the desire, this time too, to open a reflection“.

And here is the reason for the writings: “What economy in via Maqueda? Which economy in Corso Vittorio Emanuele? Which economy in via Amari? Which economy in via La Lumia?“.
