Modena, June 30, 2024 – “I didn’t hit him. They had been arguing about drug dealing for days, It is true. The arguments, however, were linked to the fact that Friday had started dealing drugs to minors, to very young kids”. This is what was declared yesterday morning during questioning by Adenomo Ogbeidethe 27-year-old Nigerian accused along with his friend Osaiande kingsley of having stabbed the 30-year-old compatriot to death Friday Endurance. The murder, many will remember, took place on August 20th of last year in broad daylight and in full center: precisely in Corso Vittorio Emanuele. The two suspects had been arrested less than 24 hours after the crime by the Mobile agents, directed by Mario Paternoster.
For the two, both residents in the Reggio Emilia area, the notice of conclusion of the investigations arrived at the beginning of the month and the lawyer Adenomo Ogbeidethe lawyer Fernando Giuri, requested the interview for his client within the scheduled time. Interrogation to which he had undergone shortly after the arrest, stating that that Sunday afternoon he had defended himself from an attack by the victim. The mobile investigations had highlighted the fact that the crime had occurred in the context of drug dealing. Yesterday, during the interrogation in prison before the prosecutor Campilongo the 27-year-old confirmed the circumstance, confirming what he had already declared in the past and specifying however that he had not hit the victim but also that it was not his intention to kill his compatriot.We were all hustling – he explained – but they had also discussed with Friday in the previous days because he was dealing in ai minors. I fled for fear of responsibility but also fearing reprisals from the victim’s friends.”
The two suspects had in fact been stopped while they were preparing to escape: they had already packed their bags and had left their home, in the Reggio Emilia area. The preliminary hearing for both defendants is expected to be set in a few days, with the consequent request by the prosecution for referral to trial. Both Nigerians have been charged with crime of voluntary homicide.
