Siena, 29 June 2024 – Palio, the ringing of the clarions of Palazzo Pubblico this morning sanctioned, Saturday 29th Junethe beginning and the end of theassignment of the ten horses chosen by Captains of the Contrade who will run the Palio on 2 July 2024.

This is the assignment of the ten chosen Barberi, following the order of the assignment itself.
The horse Sardinian Thrill was assigned to district of the Caterpillar. Ungaros was assigned to Valdimontone. Criptha alla Owl. The horse Angel face at the Pantera. Summer all’Oca. While Zenios goes to the Forget. Ideology was assigned to Nicchio While Ares Elce al Leocorno. In the end Tobacco all’Then e Ardeglina at the Giraffe.
Fate has therefore blessed the districts of Pantera, Then, Valdimontone e Oca where the horses with at least one career behind them went, even if they didn’t win. The other horses all newcomers they are Ares Elce, Criptha, Akida, Ardeglina, Zenios and Brivido Sardo who went to Leocorno, Civetta, Nicchio, Giraffa, Lupa and Bruco. The first horse/jockey pairings will be official this evening when the first tryat 19.45.
Meanwhile, the 118 of the South East ASL is also preparing for the PalioThe Siena-Grosseto operations centre, coordinated by director Giuseppe Panzardi, has prepared the Rescue plan health workers in collaboration with the Public Assistance, the Misericordie, the Italian Red Cross and the CB ‘IL Palio’ association.
The approximately 18 thousand people who will take their seats inside the Conchiglia and on the stages will be guaranteed maximum assistance by teams, vehicles and stations, organised to deal with any type of emergency.
The ASL Tse vets are guaranteeing from predict controls of health surveillance on horses and compliance with animal welfare regulations. The organization’s numbers in the square have already been made public: five health stations, a hundred first responders, six doctors, eight nurses and seventeen ambulances – including those in the outer circle -, as well as an additional nursing ambulance to support emergency calls from the city. All of Siena will be manned by first responders and vehicles to ensure that the event takes place in maximum safety. The camper of the Coordinamento regionale maxi emergenti, directed by Dr. Piero Paolini, will be stationed in Prato di Sant’Agostino
