Moments of voltagethis morning, at Matera dove a trolley was abandoned under a building of via Giustino Fortunatoclose to Via Lucana, in an area that is difficult to reach.
Residents of the area immediately contacted the 112 to report the suspicious trolley. The following intervened on site: carabinieri of the operations department and the Matera company who requested the intervention of the bomb squad arrived from Potenza, gods fire fighters and an ambulance of the 118. The area has meanwhile been isolated by a patrol of the radiomobile unit which has closed the road for prevent the passage of people and vehiclesalso contacting the tenants of the building where the trolley was located to have them close the windows and move away from the openings near the intervention area.
The bomb squad immediately got to work, moving the trolley with tie rods to the street, where it was inspected with the supplied robot. The contents were then checked using the supplied X-ray equipment.
Fortunately it turned out that the trolley only contained some old clothes abandoned, without being able to trace the owner of the same, so, once the alarm had ceased, the road was reopened to traffic and the trolley was delivered to the lost property office of the Municipality of Matera.
