Gianni Santilli: “Everything that has been removed will be preserved”

PESCARA 1 July 2024 – The Municipality of Pescara, together with the Ambiente company, which takes care of cleaning the city, intervened this afternoon outside the Baden Powell park in via Raffaello Sanzio.

Beyond the border of this public park, in an Rfi area, on June 23 a 16-year-old lost his life at the hands of other young people, and from that moment the fence of the green area of the Municipality became the destination of many people who wanted to leave a bouquet of flowers, a souvenir, a banner, a candle or a note in memory of Christopher Thomas Luciani.

“Taking into account the weather warning for tomorrow (rain forecast, even heavy), it was decided to remove the now worn wax candles and the tickets, which could be ruined, destroyed or swept away by the wave of bad weather that will hit the city. The rest has been fixed, in an attempt to secure the bouquets of flowers. The Municipality will take care of preserving the over 60 tickets and signs addressed to Christopher, as a sign of respect for those who wanted to leave a public testimony of the dismay and pain that unite everyone. In recent days the Municipality has temporarily closed the Baden Powell park, in consideration of the continuous coming and going resulting from the murder, a sort of horror tourism, perhaps aimed at taking photos and publishing them on social media, which the administration wanted to block.”
