Cariplo Foundation, 635 thousand euros for six projects in the Brescia area

Cariplo Foundation will finance with 635mila euro six projects that aim to preserve and enhance important religious buildings in the Brescia area. The contributions will go to the Parish of Santa Maria in Calchera (140,000 euros) and that of Sant’Agata (80,000 euros) in Brescia, while in Valcamonica the Parish of San Rocco of Darfo (130,000 euros) and that of San Lorenzo di Fraine of Pisogne (25,000 euros); however, resources will also help the Parish of Santa Maria Assunta of Orzinuovi and the Parish Saint Philip Neri of Mazzano (both 130,000 euros).

The safeguarding of the territory

Through the announcement SOS Heritage – which aims to support urgent and priority interventions on assets of historical-architectural interest – Fondazione Cariplo aims to promote the cohesion and well-being of local communitiessafeguarding its rich cultural heritage.

«Since its origins, the Foundation promotes culture both as an element of well-being and as a lever for growth and development for people and communities – underlines the vice president Valeria Negrini -. With our calls for proposals we support numerous third sector entities that carry out initiatives of various kinds in the territory, engaging formal and informal groups, citizens and professionals. We are particularly proud to be able to contribute to the preservation of the historical heritage of Brescia and its province, a commitment that reflects our dedication to cultural valorization and social cohesion».

The supported projects

At the Parish of Santa Maria in Calchera the funds will be used for urgent interventions to recover the wooden roof of the church, to the Sant’Agata Parish will be used for the project Extraordinary maintenance of the roofs and the bell tower of San Zenone all’Arco. In Darfo Boario Terme the Parish will use the resources for some operations restored, while in Pisogne the aim is to revive the parish church. In Orzinuovi the Family Center (and culture): a meeting point and support for families in the area; in Mazzano, instead, La Parish church of Ciliverghe will receive funding for the protection and conservation of the structure.

We have always been attentive to the valorization of the material and immaterial cultural heritage, and we continue to invest in innovative models for making and experiencing culture, with an approach oriented towards Sustainable Development and particular attention to human capital. Since 1991, we have supported 15,524 projectsgiving beyond 1.27 billion euros to artistic and cultural initiatives”.
