IndieRocket Festival returns to Pescara in mid-September: here are the participants

The 21st special edition of the IndieRocket Festival is approaching, on September 20th and 21st inside the suggestive Becci Pavilion in Pescara.

For over two decades, the IndieRocket Festival has been synonymous with musical innovation and sonic discovery, and this year will be no different.

Twenty-first anniversary with the new format “aquæ” that will push the boundaries of musical experimentation even further. This year’s line-up will be strongly oriented towards an electronic sound, maintaining the spirit of research and attention to artistic quality.

Two days with international artists who will explore new sonic frontiers, offering unique and engaging performances. This renewed focus on electronic music will enrich the audience experience for a festival that is constantly evolving and adapting to changes in the contemporary music scene.

The closing of the festival, Sunday 22nd September, will be hosted by the Municipality of Loreto Aprutino in collaboration with Pollinaria. “æquinox” will be a final party immersed in nature, which promises to give unforgettable emotions with many surprises to conclude this special edition in style.

Three days of music, culture and experimentation. IndieRocket continues to be a beacon for all those seeking new sonic experiences and wanting to discover the best of the independent music scene.

During the three days of the festival, IndieRocket will host international and Italian artists who will explore new sound frontiers, offering unique and engaging performances. Among the first names announced are Mouse On Marsthe German duo formed by Jan St. Werner e Andi Toma that for 25 years has been changing and deconstructing its own sound alphabet by combining electronic experimentation with pop and club culture. At IndieRocket Mouse On Mars will present an a/v show that is the offspring of their latest release, “AAI (Anarchic Artificial Intelligence)”, an album that explores artificial intelligence both as a narrative structure and as a compositional tool, their most explicitly “sci-fi” work to date. The lineup also includes About Unitaka di Jim Colesa producer who has been a constant presence on the British electronic music scene since the early 2000s, capable of exploring musical styles ranging from downtempo to techno, from jungle to footwork and dub, who at IndieRocket will present a live performance taken from his latest studio work, “Acid Dub Studies”, a fusion of 303 acid bass, dub reggae, dub techno and ambient. Completing the first round of announcements: 3Phazelectronic producer from Cairo, capable of offering a brutal and incisive interpretation of the Egyptian mahraganat/shaabi sound; Coca Pumaan eclectic artist with a nu-jazz background who defies definition, alternating elegant productions with dreamlike and rarefied atmospheres with darker and more melancholic tracks.

Forest Swordsalias in Matthew Barnes, British producer affiliated with Ninja Tune, who has become a staple in the contemporary electronic underground thanks to his highly evocative albums, in which dub meets psychedelia, also known for his works for the world of cinema and contemporary dance, and who IndieRocket will perform a DJ set that blends experimental sounds and club rhythms. Another international name added to the lineup is that of Follaczoida project born in Santiago de Chile and currently based in Berlin, created by LordSouth American trans icon, musician, artist and director, whose live performance is a unique experience, between rhythms that induce a musical trance, which look to kraut-rock on one side and techno on the other, capable of seducing audiences with engaging soundscapes and a constantly evolving musical vision.

It also finds space in the IndieRocket Festival 2024 line-up Maria Chiara Argirò, born in Rome and moved to London, has become a central figure in the world of jazz, classical and electronic, based in the UK. Her latest album, “Closer” (Innovative Leisure), is defined by the artist as a journey through a dream world in search of the center of ourselves, a space where melody and deconstructed rhythm coexist harmoniously. The second cycle of announcements is completed by Atlantic Cementa project by the producer and DJ from Romagna Alessandro “ToffoloMuzik” Zoffoliwhose recent album, “Dromomania” (Bronson Recordings) has a strong rhythmic drive that recalls the unstoppable desire to travel, and in which the electronic languages ​​of future garage and post-dubstep are hybridized with field recordings.
