“With regard to some recent rumours circulating in the Foligno area, regarding the difficulties our company is having in continuing its football-educational path, it is necessary to clarify some points.
Our youth sector is constantly expanding (the numbers say it) and can avail of educators and instructors of the highest level and qualified.
We are the longest-running club in the Foligno area (founded as a sports club in 1964 thanks to the late founder Don MARZIO MELELLI) and in five years, a period of rebirth of the youth sector, we have reached approximately one hundred and fifty athletes in the football school and competitive categories alone, not considering the Juniors and First Team categories registered in the (LND).
After having reached the goal of the amateur category of the Regional Promotion and maintained it for many years, this season our first team had to know the bitterness of relegation to the first category Regional championship.
This has given rise to a series of necessary and necessary considerations in the management of via Grumelli to create a new exciting project based mainly on young people, possibly from the Foligno area.
The strengthening of the SGS, completing it with the competitive category of #pupils, like rational economic management, will become the cornerstones of the ASD VIS FOLIGNO also in consideration of the fact that one CANNOT let oneself be “taken by the euphoria” during the planning of the season in progress for who knows what objective, but always making “common sense” and, as underlined, economically sustainable choices to safeguard the human heritage of the athletes and families who have and will place their trust in us.
An amateur club has the obligation and duty to fulfill its commitments (especially financial ones) to be a credible competitor at all levels and ASD VIS FOLIGNO, since 1964, sometimes, indeed often, sweating the proverbial “seven shirts” has always done so and has no intention of stopping doing so.
Therefore, we reassure those who believed or hoped that these rumours were true, that the glorious club from via Grumelli will be back at the starting line in the 24/25 season, with important new features, and will continue to flaunt its values such as loyalty and fairness, values that have always characterised its DNA.”
