After the first stop in Liguria, Green Schooner continues its journey along the Peninsula and heads towards Tuscany to monitor the health of the sea and the coasts.
On July 1st and 2nd the Legambiente vessel will be moored at Andana degli Anelli in the port of Livorno, while on July 3rd the crew will be in Florence to present the Tuscan water monitoring data.
The Legambiente campaign, now in its 38th edition, will therefore stop in Tuscany with a series of initiatives, starting with the exercise of Tartadogs scheduled for July 1st at 7.30 on the beach of Calambrone, in Pisa, which is part of the European project Life Turtlenest.
At the port of Livorno, where Goletta Verde will be moored, sthere will be a meeting (at 10am) to talk about “Sea turtles, Tartadogs and Goletta Verde for the defense of the sea and its inhabitants” and to take a ritual photo with your four-legged friends and the Legambiente crew.
Among the other key events, on July 1st, at 6pm, there will be a short conference on board the Legambiente boat on the theme “Marine biodiversity in Tuscany: critical issues and protection actions”; while on Tuesday 2 June, 10am, in Sala Ferretti, after the greetings of the mayor of Livorno, the conference “Blue eyes on the Europa dock: ports, logistics, ecological conversion of maritime transport” will begin.
On Wednesday 3 July, the Goletta Verde crew will move to Florence for the final press conference to present the data on the quality of Tuscan waters, which will be held at 11 am at the “Libri Liberi” bookshop (via San Gallo 25/R).
With the 2024 edition of the campaign, Legambiente’s SOS Goletta service also returns to report anomalous discharges, suspicious patches or pollution along the coasts and beaches of your territory by filling out the appropriate form on the dedicated page.
