The 27-year-old Turkish man who applied for a residence permit for international protection was wanted in Hungary, he is suspected of being the leader of a migrant trafficking group.
CATANZARO – A 27 year old Turkish citizen was arrested in recent days by the State Police. The 27-year-old is already known to the police for crimes against property and persons committed in Italy. A few days ago, he went to the Immigration Office to request a residence permit for international protection.
The investigations by the Provincial Cabinet of the Police Forensics and the Flying Squad made it possible to ascertain that an international arrest warrant issued by the Hungarian authorities was pending on his account.
The man was then arrested and taken to the Siano prison at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
This arrest is particularly important. The 27-year-old Turk is, in fact, suspected of being the leader of a criminal group. In particular, the group would be dedicated to assisting foreigners in illegally crossing the borders of European countries in the year 2022.
The proceedings of the man wanted in Hungary, who hoped to obtain a residence permit in Italy, are based at the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro.
