The bandits attack the Mondialpol in Sassari.

The assault on the Mondialpol of Sassari was orchestrated with military precision by a well-structured gang of bandits, composed of several leaders capable of coordinating risky operations, despite the crossfire of over 200 Kalashnikov rounds. Using heavy armaments and military equipment, the gang demonstrated advanced preparation, possibly acquired in training centers, even outside Sardinia, as suspected for the origin of the weapons.

The Attorney General Luigi Patronaggio described the criminals as “ferocious”, highlighting their intent to shoot to kill, a sign of long and careful preparation. The gang has shown an ability to update itself over time and correct errorsas evidenced by their attack on Mondialpol. Using a modified bulldozer to access the “counting room” and more secure industrial bags, they avoided risk of breakage and maximized cash withdrawal.

During the assault, they created distractions such as nails in the road and cars on fire, while they fired to cover the withdrawal operation. The gang, made up of around twenty members, acted with precision and cold bloodwithout improvisation, until receiving the order to retreat. Their immediate success suggests a well-studied plan of action and an intermediate storage location, avoiding a direct return in their territories of origin.
