CASACALENDA. The Municipal Administration of Casacalenda, in collaboration with the local Associations, is pleased to present the rich program of events and demonstrations that will animate our town in the coming weeks. We are excited to share with citizens and visitors a series of initiatives designed to offer moments of culture, leisure and conviviality.
A summer of culture and fun
There are so many initiatives planned for this summer season.
It starts early with 4 literary meetings scheduled for the 4 Fridays of the month of July, promoted by the administration with the project Mosse di Kultura and which will be an opportunity to talk about authors and books. It continues with an evening dedicated to Jazz music with Casacalenda that enters the calendar of the well-known project Borgo in Jazz; music will also be the protagonist of an evening dedicated to charity by the association “Gli Amici di Tiziana…Per non dimenticare”.
Art and Cinema: the Festivals that make history
The traditional Festivals will not be missing: Costruiamo Paesaggio in its third edition in this format and MoliseCinema FilmFestival now in its 22nd edition.
The Festival of Arts, organized by the “Kalenarte” Association, will consist of meetings, workshops, exhibitions and reflections in various corners of the country from 23 to 25 July, while the famous MoliseCinema Film Festival will offer screenings, workshops, presentations and meetings with prominent authors and actors, from 6 to 11 August 2023.

Taste and Tradition
Cooking lovers will be able to take part in lessons held by the best local chefs, learning the secrets of traditional recipes, lessons held on the occasion of the Year of Roots, as well as it will be possible to book, until the end of September, free guided tours to discover the town, private tours with illustration of the extraordinary exhibition “The Roots of the South” and walks to learn about Maack and to discover local herbs and plants.
In September, the seminar Food Territories: a day dedicated to reflections on local food and its connection with the territory, the landscape, the places and the communities. The program of interventions will soon be available on the website of the Municipality of Casacalenda.
There will be no shortage of food and wine festivals, where it will be possible to taste the typical products of our territory and many initiatives to spend days together in the name of fun, for children and adults, organized by the Pro Loco.
Theatre, Folklore and Popular Games
The Sine Association, always within the framework of the Tourism of the Roots, will propose an evening of open-air theatre staging the comedy, recited in the local dialect, “GesùMerije”. Folklore will be celebrated as usual on the evening of August 14, with the Emigrant’s Day which includes the performance of the famous Bufù.
And then there are also outdoor tournaments and competitions, karaoke and dancing in the square for everyone, organized by ProLoco and, in September, the second edition of the MotoMemorial organized by Kalena Bikers, with a motorbike ride, stands and music.
Upon reservation, yoga classes are available throughout the month of August.
Nature
The pride of the territory is the Regional Nature Reserve “Bosco Casale”. LIPU, which has managed the reserve for over thirty years, organizes guided tours of the Oasis upon reservation and according to the program available on the official page. To treat yourself to a day discovering the local flora and fauna.
An invitation to participate
The Municipal Administration invites everyone to participate in these initiatives, allowing themselves to be involved in the lively atmosphere that characterizes Casacalenda during the summer.
With the support of local associations and local businesses, we are certain that everyone will find initiatives of interest to them, rediscovering the pleasure of being together and experiencing our wonderful country.
